Excitement galore as Tad triumph
TADCASTER LADIES 1STS came away from another tough game against Wakefield with a 2-1 win.
With Wakefield renowned for their incessant talking and pressure on the ball, the game didn't disappoint in the excitement and commitment stakes.
It was Wakefield that were first to make a clean break, and from the right their centre forward swept home into the left-hand corner.
Taddy were forced to step up a gear and it wasn't long before centre back Stacey Wilton converted a well-taken short corner to level matters - cleverly nicking it up into the left-hand corner of the net past a stunned 'keeper.
Eventually Tad's hard work paid off after the break and a short corner in the last quarter of the game allowed Sarah Pedder to pummel a shot into the right-hand corner of the goal to seal a great win.
The win leaves Taddy undefeated at home this season and still on course for that all-important promotion into the premiership.
However, it's different news for the second team who are in danger of disbanding due to a lack of numbers.
The side are looking for players of any age and ability to come training at Tadcaster Grammar school on Wednesdays at 7.30pm.
